JARED LETO FROM THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS HOSTS NEW MTV EXIT DOCUMENTARY TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special World Premiere on MTV Southeast Asia Channel on 17 September
13 September 2011, Singapore: MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) today announced the release of Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special, hosted by Jared Leto from Thirty Seconds to Mars, a powerful documentary film to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking and exploitation in Asia. The documentary will premiere on MTV Southeast Asia Channel on 17 September at 1:30 PM.
The new half-hour documentary is the regional version featuring a compilation of human trafficking stories from across Asia. It is the second in a series of twelve new documentaries to launch across the region with the remaining versions featuring locally specific human trafficking stories from each country, hosted by local celebrities.
MTV EXIT Campaign Director, Matt Love said, “Human trafficking and exploitation is modern day slavery. Traffickers do not discriminate as to whom they are trying to deceive, everyone is vulnerable. The power of conversation is very important and being informed is the first step to protecting ourselves.”
The documentary gives audiences a real and rare glimpse into the human trafficking and exploitation issue in Asia, providing insights into the realities of trafficking and explores the roles played by everyone in the trafficking chain. It also provides information on how individuals can protect themselves against trafficking, and encourages everyone to stand up, take action and be part of the fight to end exploitation and trafficking.
